Ab Nahin Tou Kab (If not now, then when?)

Maazi ki dhund me lipta dikhta hai har ek fard

Agle hi pal ki jsko na hai koi khabar

Nazren hain uski har dam khwaahishon se labrez

Bhoola hua hai `Ab’ ko, firaagh-e-mustaqbil mein

Vaazeh jo ab hai – ye pal, iske siwa hai kya,

Saraab hai ye qissa-e-kal, ab samajh bhi ja.

(The past has fogged every human mind, what next moment holds for him is uncertain indeed.

His eyes gleam with the brimming desires that future could present him, but he has completely distanced himself from `now’ for tomorrow.

He has been failing to understand that what you have is `now’ right there, nothing besides that!

This tale of yesterday and tomorrow is just an illusion like a mirage in the desert.)
